This Friday, 14th December 2012,
something very exciting is happening in
Cambridge and you are invited to join in a very exclusive and unique Pop-Up
Supperclub in the heart of our City...
If you haven’t heard of FoodCycle, then where have you
been?... FoodCycle is a national charity, which combines volunteers, reclaimed
food and a free kitchen space to create nutritious meals for people in need in
the community. The Cambridge centre is based at St Pauls Church on Hills Road
and I have helped cook a few Saturdays this year which has been great fun.
You
can read all about my first kitchen session here.
I have also been involved in some fundraising for FoodCycle
with The Secluded Tea Party, where I hosted an Alice in Wonderland inspired tea
party in the
middle of the woods for my birthday,
of which you can read about here.
Join Zoe and the fantastic FoodCycle Cambridge Team for a
fundraising 3 course banquet, with music, cooking demos and even a raffle at
Stickybeaks Coffee Shop on Hobson Street.
It's lined up to be a really exciting night. Doors open at
7.30pm, with Stickybeaks preparing 3 festive courses which sound delicious,
check out the menu as follows:
On
arrival
Canapés
and mulled wine
Starter
Winter Squash
and Chestnut Soup
with Artisan
Bread
Main
Festive Filo
Pies
with
North African Cous Cous
Pudding

and Amaretti Trifle

Christmas Biscuit.
The food
demo will be a very informal chance to pick up some festive baking skills on
arrival. There will be a wonderfully Christmassy atmosphere, with music,
decorations and crackers.
They also
have some great donations for the raffle from the Cambridge Fudge Kitchen, Nana
Mexico, Urban Larder and Limoncello.
Tickets for this event are £25 per person and £15 for volunteers.
To book, simply visit: www.uk.virginmoneygiving.com/cambsfoodcycle
People can email Zoe directly for more information
I’m gutted that I can’t make this Friday personally,
however, I
have agreed to help them with an Easter event for 2013,
so very
exciting news to follow very soon : )
